How often do I use the Mounjaro pen?

You inject Mounjaro once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.

How many doses does one pen contain?

Each Mounjaro pen contains 4 doses, which equals one month of treatment. After the fourth dose, throw away the pen, even if there is still liquid visible.

Do I need to use a new needle each time?

Yes. Always use a new needle for each injection. This prevents contamination, infection, leakage, and blocked needles. Never store the pen with the needle attached.

Can I change the injection day?

Yes, that's allowed - as long as the previous dose was given at least 3 days (72 hours) ago.

Do I need to check the flow every time?

No - only with the first injection of a new pen. With a pen that is already in use, you skip this step.

What if the liquid in the pen is cloudy or frozen?

Use the pen only if the liquid is colorless to light yellow and clear. If the liquid is cloudy, discolored, or frozen, do not use the pen and contact us via the medical chat.

The dosage selector won't turn any further - what now?

Then there is probably not enough liquid left for a full dose. Throw away the pen and use a new pen. Never try to inject the remaining liquid.

Do I need a prescription for Mounjaro?
