How often should I use the Ozempic pen?

You inject Ozempic once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.

How many doses does one pen contain?

Each Ozempic pen contains 4 doses, which is equivalent to one month of treatment.

Do I need to use a new needle each time?

Yes. Always use a new needle for each injection. This prevents contamination, infection, leakage, and blocked needles. Never store the pen with the needle attached.

How do I know how much ink is left in the pen?

Turn the dose selector until it stops. The number that then appears in the dose window is the remaining dose. If the counter stops before your prescribed dose, use a new pen.

Can I change the injection day?

Yes, that is allowed—as long as the previous dose was given at least 2 days (48 hours) ago.

What if the liquid in the pen is cloudy?

Use the pen only if the liquid is clear and colorless. If the liquid is cloudy or if particles are visible, do not use the pen and contact us via the medical chat.

Do I need to check the flow every time?

No - only with the first injection of a new pen. With a pen that is already in use, you skip this step.
